The U.C.O. was established in 1999 with a mission to improve the management of urological cancers by co-ordinating clinical care and research activities throughout western Sydney and
the greater west.

The U.C.O. comprises Urologists, Medical and Radiation Oncologists, Palliative Care specialists, Pathologists and Research Scientists, driven by the belief that the
highest quality research and patient care can be achieved through improved communication
and collaboration in this field.

The U.C.O. currently have a membership base stretching from the North Shore of Sydney to Orange in Mid-Western NSW. Our mission is to improve the management of urological
cancers by coordinating clinical care and research activities within the Western Sydney area.

Terms of Reference - Our Goals

To establish a dedicated organisation to coordinate cancer services and activities related to urological cancers throughout Western Sydney and the Greater West

To develop consensus in the management of urological cancers

To disseminate and update information regarding urological cancer services and research to clinicians and members of the public

To foster collaboration between clinical and laboratory spheres in the area of urological
oncology

To strengthen clinical links in order to optimise patient management in the area of urological oncology

To provide financial support for clinical and laboratory research in this area To encourage patient education and participation in new therapies and research activities
